| Most Embarrassing Gaming/Gaming related moment: | While playing ARMA 2 I was leading a team of two GOC listeners SockDog and Swisstuck while Radar led a second squad to take out a high value target. As the sun was setting we approached a hill from which we could achieve overwatch on our target. I carefully scanned the horizon as in a realistic shooter death can be anywhere. I turned and noticed a small smudge at the top of the hill which looked to be moving, I immediately called out the contact and we engaged, firing up the hill with our silenced weapons as we moved into cover. The others called out to me, Swiss asking who we were shooting at while Sockdog said he could not see anybody. I replied that there was definitely someone up there in the distance and to keep shooting. After expending several magazines worth of ammo firing at this figure on the hill, I finally crept up to investigate. I searched the entire section of the hill several times but found nothing but a set of small bushes on this arid rocky hill. I turned about confused, looking at the opposite hill. Again there was the figure, a small smudge in the distance so I ducked down and took aim, before I noticed the smudge had moved as well. On closer inspection I realised that this “figure” was actually a bit of dirt on my monitor, its movement just my own movement. Embarrassed I told the guys on mumble that there was nothing up there so we could carry on, carefully omitting that we had actually been shooting at a speck of dust on my screen the entire time. | |
